Question about a 1998 Eddie Bauers Explorer?

I bought this really nice used explorer in great condition and I was wondering how many versions of the Eddie Bauers Explorers there are because when i bought it and asked him if its four wheel drive or AWD the dealership owner said he didn't know whether it was a AWD or 4x4 and I know it isn't a 4x4 and because it does not have any options or ons that you push to put it in 4x4 so my umption is that its AWD drive can someone please give me your opinion. the explorer is has a luxurious interior and very nice on the exterior.
