My right leg is 1/2 inch shorter than my left, are there lifts i can wear under the socks indoors,at home?
I have mild cerebral palsy, and my right leg is about 1/2 shorter than the left. For couple years I've been suffering from lower back pain, and because of the leg length discrepancy, my right hip has now arthritis, and have difficulty walking.. sigh.. I already have a shoe heel lift for my shoes ( I found that MBT shoes were the most comfortable shoes out there.. but quite expensive.. sigh again). Anyway, I am looking for the same inserts I can wear while I am indoors, since I do not wear shoes inside my house. I THINK i read somewhere on the internet that there is some kind of an insert, (possibly made of sillicon) that I would put it on my foot and wear a sock to secure it, so I could have the same/similar support while I am at home. Would anyone know of this?? Also, I know that there's childrens' cerebral palsy specialist, but couldn't find one for adults?!? what about for those children who grow up to be 'adults' ? who are we suppose to go seek help? One more thing.. I want back surgery asap, but I also know that I may need hip replacement surgery as well.. would it be too much if I have the surgery back to back? I am sick of living with pain.. the quality of life sucks.. One last thing.. with the hip replacement surgery, would they be able to help with the leg length discrepancy? Sorry it's so long winded.. I've never really asked a question online, but I'm getting desperate for answers that my physicins weren't able to answer... sigh.. it's so frustrating.. I had a 930am appointment with a nero/orthopedic specialist today, and weren't seen until 3??! how is that possible??!! I would greatly appreciate it if anyone out there would be able to provide me with an answer. Thanks!
